Currently in the middle of remodeling, room still smelled a bit of fresh paint, but everything was very nice and, obviously, clean. The breakfast was quite good (powdered eggs, nice crisp bacon, delicious cinnamon buns, good sausage gravy biscuits). Bed was quite comfortable. All the staff was quite friendly as well.
The hotel is alright for the money I paid (i have the employee discount). It is currently undergoing renovations to become a Best Western so I expected it to be a little lackluster in terms of looks and room availability. The first room I was in was wonderful if just a bit cramped. The second night I was in a different room and when I walked in I was assaulted with the smell of drying paint, the front desk was quick to assist, though one of their floors was unusable and we were not able to move he gave the room a hefty spray of their air freshener and it cleared it right up. Overall I was content with the service and quality.
It is currently being remodeled to a best Western. Everything is new and in good condition. Would stay here again.
We're staying at a different hotel on the way back for that reason.
Rooms were clean, well stocked and well maintained. Breakfast was standard HIE fare, with very friendly staff on hand and ensuring everything was well stocked.
Clean hotel with friendly staff, though coverage in late evening was poor and I saw numerous arriving guests wait a long time for someone to return to the front desk on a holiday weekend Friday.
After leaving the ashtray that was the redroof, seriously did not know there were still hotels in america where you are allowed to smoke, we found this little oasis. This is our 3rd move cross country with pets and kid in tow, i can not tell you how much we appreciate a helpful front desk and clean comfy rooms. A big shout out to Brandon for giving my husband a pepsi for my migraine! If you find yourself in morehead, stop here.
The pool was the single disappointment. We picked the hotel expressly to have an indoor pool but found a number of issues: the pool is accessible by leaving main corridor and re-entering. The door was not secured and the card swipe was not operational. Not good if you have kids. The pool itself was very dirty (algae buildup) and one of the heating lamps was out of its recess in the pool wall and just floating around in the water hanging by its wire. Unacceptable from a safety standpoint in my mind. Kids were very disappointed when we left without pool time.
Summary: good hotel overall, pool needs work. If you don't care about the pool, this is good value for money along that highway.
